Aayush Bhasin
Founder & Executive Director
Aayush Bhasin is a high school student from the Tri-Valley area who founded Paw Promise in 2023 after witnessing firsthand the impact that consistent volunteer care has on shelter animals. What began as a personal mission to walk dogs at his local shelter has grown into a youth-led nonprofit connecting dozens of teen volunteers with partner shelters across the East Bay. Aayush believes that compassion isn't something you're born with — it's something you practice, and that young people are uniquely positioned to bring fresh energy and genuine care to animal welfare. Under his leadership, Paw Promise has supported over 120 animals, trained 150+ youth volunteers, and built partnerships with six local shelters.
“Every animal deserves care and dignity — and every young person has the power to make that happen.”
Our Story
From a youth-led idea to real impact across the Tri-Valley.
Paw Promise began as a way for young people to make a tangible difference for animals in our community. Through school donation drives, community partnerships, and our dog-walking fundraiser, we've connected volunteers with shelters across the East Bay and Tri-Valley — and we're just getting started.

All donations collected were given to Contra Costa Humane Society to advance our founding mission of improving animal welfare, wellness, and safety. We ran 6 donation drives across the Tri-Valley — we couldn't have done this without the support of our incredible community.
